The 2024 vintage will surely be remembered as one of the most difficult in agriculture.
The heavy rains of May and June, real water bombs, complicated operations in the vineyard and greatly slowed down the ripening process of the grapes.
The berries were very compact, full of juice and the typical blue-black color, but the right degree of acidity and sugars arrived only on the first days of autumn.
Finally on Sunday, September 22, at the first light of a beautiful sunrise, manual selection of the best Salamino bunches began in a group of rows on the estate thinned out in August.
Bunch after bunch, crate after crate, by late afternoon, our cooler was full and ready to chill the grapes while awaiting crushing.
A long and tiring day, but gladdened by the knowledge that we had achieved a more than satisfactory harvest and were bringing good quality to the winery to produce our first wine: Serabrezza.
